Many have the fear of going “blind” because acquired blindness is a significant disability that can reduce one’s quality of life.  However, being diagnosed as blind does not necessarily imply absolute blindness. This is a rather common misconception. In fact, absolute blindness – defined as “no light perception”, is uncommon.
