The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently launched two initiatives to improve the access and quality of healthcare services across the country.

Firstly, ‘Zayed, the benevolent’ caravan was launched. It aims to provide free health services and awareness to UAE citizens and residents. Secondly, the next initiative is the Emirates Health Services (EHS) mobile, foldable dental clinic that provides at-home services for patients who have difficulty with in-person visits.

Zayed, the Benevolent: Free Health Services for Residents and Citizens Across the Nation

The ‘Zayed, the benevolent’ caravan is a mobile medical service that will travel to all seven emirates. Specialized health volunteers and UAE doctors launched it on Humanitarian Day in the country. The initiative aims to strengthen social responsibility and consolidate the concept of good in all segments of society. It is a continuation of the Zayed Giving Initiative, which was launched in 2000. The convoy will visit various residential neighbourhoods, centres for the elderly and people with disabilities, labour camps, sports and commercial gatherings, and government institutions.

Mobile, Foldable Dental Clinic Launched by Emirates Health Services (EHS)

The second initiative is the EHS mobile, foldable dental clinic. It is the first government health service of its kind in the Middle East. The clinic aims to provide unparalleled dental services. Specifically, patient categories whose transportation to the dental clinic is extremely difficult or unsafe. These patients include those who suffer from illnesses that require receiving oxygen or tube feeding. Additionally, it is for those who struggle with behavioural issues such as severe autism, dementia, mental illnesses, etc. Also, The mobile clinic is an integrated, modern dental unit. That means it meets international standards with its lightweight design and ease of transport.

    Quotes

Dr Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, emphasized that the act of giving in the UAE is not just an attribute, but a consistent and continuous approach that has become a priority across levels, under the guidance of wise leadership. Also, Dr. Essam Al Zarouni, Acting Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector at Emirates Health Services, stated that the EHS is committed to diversifying healthcare services to comply with the highest international standards.

Commitment to Health Care Accessibility and Quality

These two initiatives demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to improving the access and quality of healthcare services across the country. Consequently, they are important steps towards achieving the country’s healthcare goals and vision. World-class healthcare services are essential to a thriving and healthy society, and these initiatives will contribute to realizing the “We The UAE 2031” vision and the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan goals.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, these two traveling medical services launched in the UAE are crucial to enhancing the accessibility and quality of healthcare services across the country. The ‘Zayed, the benevolent’ caravan and the EHS mobile, foldable dental clinic are two examples of the UAE’s commitment to providing world-class healthcare services.  Finally, these initiatives will improve the health system’s efficiency, provide high-quality healthcare in a patient-centered, conditions-sensitive, and privacy-respecting manner. Most importantly, it will allow more people to access medical services.
